Recently, at the construction site of the anchor block on the south bank of the Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge, tower cranes stand tall and engineering vehicles roar. The first layer of the anchor block has been completed, and workers are in the process of removing the formwork.
It is introduced that during formwork removal, the temperature difference within the concrete is an important factor affecting surface cracking of the anchor block, which greatly impacts the quality and appearance of the anchor block. The internal surface temperature difference of the anchor block is 16.4°C, meeting the standard for formwork removal. It is reported that the project team has installed cooling water pipes inside the concrete, acting like human sweat glands to dissipate heat. At the same time, temperature sensors are installed in the cooling water pipes, allowing workers to conveniently view the internal surface temperature difference on their mobile phones for on-site construction.

The Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge project of the Xingang Expressway is located with the north bank in the Xinzhou District of Wuhan and the south bank in the Huarong District of Ezhou. The main span is 1,430 meters long, with eight lanes in both directions, designed for a speed of 120 km/h, and constructed according to expressway standards.
According to the design, the south main tower is a door-type reinforced concrete frame tower, standing at a height of 210.78 meters with a standard segment height of 6 meters, totaling 35 segments, and featuring upper, middle, and lower horizontal beams. Currently, 25 segments have been completed, and the installation of the middle horizontal beam supports is underway.
