On March 11th, the first lining segment for the tunnel was successfully poured for Lot 6 of the Xiong’an Underground Section and Related Works of the Xiongxin High-Speed Railway project (hereafter referred to as Xiongxin Lot 6).

Xiongxin Lot 6 is located in the Xiong’an New Area of Hebei Province. The full line is 5.43 kilometers long, including railway and municipal supporting works. The railway works mainly involve Xiong’an Tunnels No. 2 and No. 3 within the demarcation scope, as well as the reserved works behind the station. This lot has a total of 623 lining segments. The first segment poured this time is the 157th segment of Xiong’an Tunnel No. 2, with a designed length of 9 meters and a thickness of 1.1 meters. It was cast in one pour using an integrated inner and outer formwork car.

To ensure the lining construction quality, the project department convened multiple seminars and formulated a dedicated construction plan for the sloping excavation lining section. 3D visualization briefings and skill competitions on lining concrete quality control were carried out to ensure construction teams understood the technical and quality control key points. A lining construction leadership team was established to hold lining construction planning meetings, mobilization meetings, and pre-pouring meetings, clearly defining responsibilities. The project deputy manager, technical supervisor, tester, safety officer, and quality inspector were arranged to follow the entire pouring process to ensure comprehensive control over the lining construction.
The Xiongxin High-Speed Railway connects the Xiong’an New Area of Hebei Province with Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. It is an important east-west corridor of the “four vertical and two horizontal” regional high-speed rail network in the Xiong’an New Area, as well as a crucial part of the Beijing-Kunming Corridor of China’s “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed rail trunk lines. Upon completion, it will help improve the railway network structure in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, promote passenger exchange and economic development along the line between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the Jinzhong urban agglomeration, and is of great significance for better serving the implementation of the coordinated development strategy for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
