On April 3rd, the reconstruction and expansion project of the Huangshi Yangtze River Highway Bridge has entered the bidding plan stage, indicating that the project has entered a substantive phase.

The reconstruction and expansion project of the Huangshi Yangtze River Highway Bridge aims to enhance the safety performance and comprehensive service capacity of the bridge. It has been included in the “14th Five-Year Plan for Comprehensive Transportation Development in Huangshi City”, obtained provincial government approval for “project construction under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model”, and listed as the No. 1 transportation project in Huangshi City for 2024.

The project starts from the west side of the Huangshi Yangtze River Highway Bridge toll station, passes through the Huangshi toll station to the east, follows the old bridge across Huangshi Avenue, the Yangtze River, and Hedi Road, and connects to Provincial Highway S201, ending at the six-lane to eight-lane transition section terminal in Xishui County, Huanggang City.

The reconstruction and expansion project of the Huangshi Yangtze River Highway Bridge has a total length of about 3.725 km. After reconstruction, it will have 1 extra-large bridge of 2.58 km, 1 toll station, and 1 oversize vehicle inspection station. It will be constructed as a Grade 1 highway with a design speed of 80 km/h, six lanes in both directions, and a standard subgrade width of 34.5m. The estimated total investment for this project is about 3.09 billion yuan.
