On March 15th, with the successful hoisting and installation of the cross-river steel beam segment, the closure of the arch-less cable-stayed steel-concrete continuous beam of the Hanbeihan Railway Super Large Bridge on the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway in Tienmen was successfully achieved. This beam type has not been used in the 350 km/h operational high-speed railways in China before. The successful closure of the continuous beam has expanded the thinking for the application of large-span railway bridges in the future.

At the beginning of the construction, the project department increased its exploration and practice in the areas of prefabricated construction, intelligent construction, green construction, and information-based management, striving to transform scientific research achievements into productive forces. Based on the characteristics and difficulties of bridge construction, the project department established a scientific and technological innovation leading group and set up a research and development team with a university to conduct full-process monitoring and measurement, establish a digital model, and comprehensively ensure construction quality and safety.

It is reported that regarding the research and development direction of the Hanbeihan Railway Super Large Bridge scientific research project, a number of practical technical achievements with high technological content, great promotion value, and wide grassroots demand have been formed, with 5 invention patents and 5 utility model patents applied for. Among them, the positioning device for the self-developed steel beam transportation float box and other practical technical achievements ensured the successful and precise closure of the super large bridge.

At the same time, the project department vigorously promoted green and low-carbon practices, such as the protection and restoration of aquatic ecological systems, resourceization of solid waste, and research on new construction materials. While ensuring that the concrete strength and durability meet the design requirements, the concrete mix proportion for the C55 box girder has been optimized three times and has been used on the construction site, with green manufacturing and green construction being implemented throughout the entire construction process.
