Recently, with the completion of concrete pouring for the deck of the twenty-second cast-in-place span, the main structure of the Jinan National Highway 104 Jinglan Line Yellow River Highway Bridge (New Yellow River Bridge) achieved north-south connection, laying the foundation for the subsequent full completion and opening to traffic.

The new Yellow River Bridge in Jinan has a total length of 2,518 meters, with a main bridge span of 1,028 meters and a maximum span of 488 meters. The bridge width is 37.5 meters. The new bridge is being constructed parallel to the existing bridge, with a vertical difference of 24 meters between the deck levels and a center-to-center distance of 33.5 meters. This is the first unequal-span parallel bridge construction project over the Yellow River, and also the largest-span steel bridge with the longest total length for a combined highway-rail bridge over the Yellow River, setting new records for cross-Yellow River bridges.

The new Yellow River Bridge in Jinan is a combined highway-rail structure, accommodating both road and rail traffic. The lower level of the new bridge will provide a reserved corridor for Metro Line 7 to cross the Yellow River. The co-built section of Metro Line 7 and the new bridge begins in the southeast area of the Lingdian Interchange, running underground northward to join the main line of the project. It gradually rises to the surface on the south bank of the Yellow River, then transitions to an elevated structure to connect with the new bridge. Currently, the Yellow River South Bank Station near the Lingdian Interchange is under construction, which will be an above-ground station close to the Yellow River.

Upon completion, the new Yellow River Bridge in Jinan will traverse the main urban area and the New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Pilot Zone, providing rapid access to various directions. It will play a crucial role in improving the road network layout, optimizing the road network structure, enhancing traffic capacity, and alleviating congestion on existing roads in the region.
