On March 18th, with the last bridge deck slab safely and steadily installed, it marked the completion of the Baishuihe Bridge on the Naiqing Expressway and the main structure of the project.

The Baishuihe Bridge is a 340-meter main span half-through concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge, one of the key control projects of the Naiqing Expressway. The bridge has a total length of 833.5 meters and a height of 303 meters, with 240 deck slabs on the main bridge. The installation of the first segment of the main arch ring started on February 28, 2023. After careful organization and strict execution of the lifting instructions, the precise lifting was achieved, providing a timely passage for the second-phase pavement construction, which is of great significance for cost-saving and promoting the overall construction progress of the project.

During the project construction, the technical team actively applied more than 10 key technologies, including BIM precise modeling, in-depth design of steel structure fabrication drawings, BeiDou system intelligent cable-stayed installation for long-span bridges, cable-stayed installation and anchoring system monitoring, and one-time top-up grouting of self-compacting concrete. So far, 5 patent applications have been filed, and 3 academic papers have been published, achieving comprehensive improvements in technology-led safety, quality, and progress.

The Baishuihe Bridge is located in Jichang Township, Zhijin County, spanning across the Baishui River. It is a crucial transportation hub between Zhangjiaawan Town, Nayong County, and Jichang Township, Zhijin County, Guizhou Province. With the bridge connection, the mining and transportation conditions of coal resources along the route have been significantly optimized. Moreover, as the Baishuihe Bridge is located within an ecological protection area and the secondary protected area for drinking water sources in Central Guizhou, it plays an indispensable role in promoting “bridge-tourism integration” and facilitating economic, cultural exchanges, and social progress between the two regions.

As of now, the Naiqing Expressway has achieved 91% of its planned progress and is expected to be completed in 2025.
