On March 12th, the Daguang Bridge of the supporting road project for Liantang Station on the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway completed its underwater construction.

It is understood that the supporting road project for the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway consists of four roads: Zhangliantang Road, Liantian Road, Sanfeng Road, and Station North Road, passing through Zhanglian Village and Beizhuang Village, with a total length of 1,864 meters. There are three bridges along the entire line: Dongzhi Qingqiao Bridge, Changban Bridge, and Daguang Bridge. According to the on-site construction engineer, the three bridges have completed the bored pile and abutment construction. The underwater pier of the Daguang Bridge is currently under construction, with plans to complete the prefabrication of the girders in March. The installation of the Daguang Bridge is scheduled for completion in May, and the ancillary bridge works in June. As introduced by the project construction production manager: “Currently, 25% of the drainage main pipe works have been completed, with plans to finish all main drainage pipe works by April and the rainwater branch pipes by May. For the road works, 10% of the gravel base course has been completed, with plans to complete the entire gravel base course by May, the pavement structure layer by June, and the pavement ancillary works, greening, and lighting by July.”

It is believed that with the gradual completion of the supporting road project for the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway, Liantang Town will embrace development opportunities brought about by improved transportation convenience. The seamless integration of the railway and roads will provide wider travel spaces for residents and tourists in the Yangtze River Delta region, offer more convenient logistics and transportation channels for business development, and provide better conditions for the growth of the tourism industry, promoting the overall economic and social progress of Liantang Town. It is anticipated that the completion of the supporting road project for the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway will soon usher in a new chapter for the development of Liantang Town.
